Sustainable Forestry Management

Malaysia is covered with 5.73 million hectares of forests, which include Permanent Reserve Forests, Land Forests, Peat Swamp Forests, Mangrove Forests, Forest Plantations, Government Land Forests, Wildlife Park Forests, Protection Forests and Production Forests. However, for the Production Forest area of 2.98 million hectares, there are still some of the explored areas which still unutilized due to certain factors such as lack of skills and other management alternatives. Therefore, we take the initiative in managing the forest area to restore the function of nature and redevelop the ecosystem.

In this forest management sector, we have selected the best forest tree species which is Revotropix Paulownia. This species is one of the species that is able to overcome the benefits of other alternative species.

Good Features of the alternative wood Revotropix Paulownia :

  1. The straight vertical physicality of the tree makes it easy to manage and can be grown in large quantities
  2. High carbon dioxide absorption can overcome the issue of global warming
  3. Good carbon control due to fast growth
  4. High market value and demand globally

Apart from Revotropix Paulownia, other alternatives taken in Sustainable Forest Management are creating farms or gardens with food-based crops which are suitable for a particular area. In other words, we try to manage the forest by making the best use of it for the benfeits of nature and human beings.

Main Objectives of Sustainable Forest Management:

  • Utilize forests or uncultivated areas
  • Creating quality results
  • Restore and enhance the quality and function of nature
  • Creating employment opportunities
  • Improve the economy
